Somehow in the Last Year I've Turned Into Slugzilla

I have been living alone for the past two weeks. My daughter spent her Christmas break in Oklahoma with her best friend. I've been shuffling around the house in my slippers and talking to myself for two weeks. Just me and the cat. I finally got my daughter back yesterday. Last night we pigged out on SnickerDoodles and watched "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants." I heard something in the middle of the night, and thought "Gasp! Someone's in the house!" Oh yeah, duh. Mallory's back. It sure is nice to have her home.

Everybody's doing it, so I guess I might as well set some New Year's Resolutions:

1) I will go back to the gym more faithfully (just so a small set of stairs won't kill me)
2) I will not become obsessive about it again (working out twice a day, 6 days a week)
3) I will eat the things I like (my days of chicken breast and raw spinach are over)
4) I will stop being obsessive about my weight - up or down
5) I will no longer consider killing be so intolerant of my next-cubicle-neighbor
6) I will cut back on my drinking (I didn't say stop)
7) I will start putting more money in my savings account
8) To buy another motorcycle!

That's enough. I can't stands no more!

You'll not hear any of those outta my mouth. I lost weight because I had to. I quit smoking because I had to. I quit drinking cause? I ain't giving anymore up.

A lot of my resolutions over the years turned out to be revolutions. Not the uprising kind but the round and round kind - because I kept just running in the same circles as before. ec

I'll do number 6 with ya, but the others probably not. Now if YOU wanna put more money into MY savings account that's fine by me.

i still got my "toy" packed into the garage, its a 1987 honda trx 250R. it is a fasttttttttt 4wheeler. and i had soooo much fun on that thing, ihaven't ridden it since i endoed off a jump and broke my wrist, which didn't heal properly, and never will. if i can't drive that thing fast, i don't want to drive it at all. i'm saving it for my son.

i like everything on your list except 5) we could think of some alternatives for your cubbie neighbor, which would be better than killing and won't land you in the clink.

One through four on your list would make mine if I had made a list :)
I think the homicidal thoughts of number 5 could simply downgraded to..well maybe..creative ways of torture!
I never did number 6, so I would say you could have my share but you are cutting down :)
Number 7 is futile for me and my number 8 would involve a tropical vacation with a hot cabana man :)
Happy New Year!!!

I'm glad you got the kid back home. I'd hate to think of Miss Ivy as a lonely cat lady. Icky bad thought.
Your list of to dos this year are impressive. Best of luck in keeping all. Start with #8. :)

Except for that part about the gym, this all sounds doable, since its more permissive than negatory.

My daughter and I saw that movie when it came out in theaters. Did you cry????
Yummy snickerdoodles! Love those things!
Good luck with your goals.
Twice a day, six days a week is a bit much, unless of course the sessions are only 30 minutes each.
I think it's best to eat within reason and exercise sensibly & consistently.
I think we should enjoy life (that includes food!) and that it is okay to try and lose some weight, but making it an obsession just makes life miserable. I'm with you!!
I wish you a happy and successful 2006!
