Sometimes You Feel Like A Nut, Sometimes You Don't

I HATE when I get in these crying jags where I cry during some crappy sappy re-run of a stupid sit-com - of all things!

I HATE when I cry for no apparent reason.

I HATE when I make an ass of myself.

I HATE it when I get brave enough to finally come out of my shell around someone, but then I come TOO far out and reveal too much about myself. It’s so embarrassing, I mean... it’s too late to jump back in the shell, I've already seen the look on their face: shock, horror, or disbelief. And NO... They didn’t see me naked!

Besides, anyone who displays expressions of horror or disbelief in response to someone being herself just ain't worth having around as a friend. That's the way I see it anyway.

If they can't accept you the way you are, you don't want, or need, them in your life.

What! No further details? What could possibly be sooo shocking about you out of your shell?

Don't sweat the small stuff. If you wanna cry, just cry no matter what it is about. And don't worry about what others think of you, life is just too darn short for that!

Ivy Hon ~ You have just described ME on a good day. Relax and don't fret...sometimes when we are TOO MUCH of ourselves it can often times be for the best. And if not. So What.

I like to cry for no apparent reason. And then I let the snot run out of my nose and don't wipe it away. This is especially fun in crowds of people.

And as far as making an ass out of yourself...like I always say:

If you can't laugh at yourself, you'll be the only one NOT laughing.

(the implication being, of course, that the rest of us are laughing at you) ;)

*hug*

PS. I realize that doesn't sound terribly supportive, but it really is, in my own special way. I'm not good at that sort of thing. ;)

Awww, I really hope you feel better. You have me laughing almost everytime I read you, and you honestly seem to love your kids. You seem like an amazing person. So whoever doesn't accept you in all your puffy eyed splotchy glory doesn't deserve your time.

Thanks, everyone. I just got really down from an "old hurt" when I was reminded about it the other day. And feeling teary to start with didn't help.

Yeah, I hate those things too. Unfortunately I'm so good at them. Except the crying. Only chicks and homos cry.

Ivy, it took me 55 years to learn it but when a female starts crying for 'no apparent reason' it's a good time to start shuffling bacwards,,toward the door.

The thing that always gets me are the shows on Animal Planet, like Emergency Vets and Animal Cops. I swear I always end up bawling when there's some starved-to-death animal, or one that has to be put down... Then my boyfriend will inevitably walk in and ask me, "*Why* do you watch this stuff??!!" :)

It's true, the balance between guarding all your personal stuff and wearing your heart out on your sleeve is tough to find!!
